MAGIC & THE BODY WRITING WORKSHOP
Where: Online via Zoom
This generative 2 day workshop will include writing prompts based on body histories, dreamscapes, and stream-of-consciousness. Prompts include: The Body as an Altar, The 4 Elements, & Ghosts.
What does generative mean?
It means we write together, on the spot, within a time limit (typically 7 to 20 days minutes per prompt) and then we move onto the next prompt.
This space is meant for us to write together and there will be several opportunities to share work.
The class is open to 10 writers. This workshop is open to writers of all levels and genres.
I am offering a developmental edit on one piece written in the workshop. Feedback will be provided by May 5th, 2024.
You will receive a packet with all of the writing exercises for future use.
About me: I'm Rios! I have been leading writing workshops since 2018 based on body stories and magic. I have a passion for writing about what calls closest to my heart. I love to write the absurd, the weird, the truths sitting in my chest. I love writers. I love storytellers. I love poets. I love sharing these prompts and seeing where it takes the imaginations of other writers. I hope to inspire stories out of you, whether it's for you or to expand on and submit somewhere to get published.
