A generative writing workshop with Rios de la Luz. In this workshop we will create flash non-fiction and fiction pieces by diving into the history of our bodies. This 5 hour class will dive into exploration of dreamscapes and the liminal as spaces where weird stories can begin. We will discuss small rituals and affirmations as a part of the writing process. We will explore our bodies as maps and geographic relics of stories. Instructor will provide feedback for one flash fiction piece via email after the workshop is done.
Cost is a sliding scale of $40 to $60 dollars

About the Instructor: Rios de la Luz is a queer xicana and chapina living in El Paso. She is the author of the short story collection, The Pulse Between Dimensions and The Desert and the novella, Itzá. Her work has been featured in Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Luna Luna Magazine, Corporeal Clamor, Entropy, Broadly, The Fem Lit Magazine, World Literature Today, WOHE Lit and St. Sucia. She was a semi-finalist for the Corporeal Writing Writing is a Muscle Grant, and her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
