About Writing the Wild:
Want to write with other creatives? Want inspiration for new poetry, prose, or flash fiction based around nature? 🌲🍄🌞🦋🌊🫀
This workshop will focus on exploring the wilderness in multiple facets, nonlinear paths into a story, journaling about nature, exploring memories of the wilderness to paint vivid imagery, and explore ways to add magical realism into our work to give stories more depth. This workshop encourages writing from a place of play and enchantment and letting go of the idea that our sentences have to be perfect when we draft.
This workshop is generative, meaning, we write together within time limits of 7 to 20 minutes per prompt. There will be opportunities to share within the workshop as well.
All participants will receive a packet with all of the exercises shared plus extra prompts to go back to later.
